Projection du film franchir la ligne

Le Centre communautaire LGBTQ+ de Montréal est fier d'organiser un visionnement du film Franchir la ligne de Paul Émile d'Entremont, le mercredi 24 août à 19h!

Dans le sport amateur et professionnel, l’homosexualité reste taboue. Peu d’athlètes osent sortir du placard de peur d’être stigmatisés. Une pression s’ajoute à celle de la performance : affirmer ou non son orientation sexuelle. Brisant l’omerta qui règne sur le terrain, sur la glace ou dans le vestiaire, Franchir le ligne pose un regard touchant et inédit sur quelques-uns de nos athlètes gais et lesbiennes qui dévoilent au grand jour un pan de leur vécu. Au nom de la relève sportive, ils cassent les préjugés.

MISE EN GARDE : Ce film aborde les thèmes du suicide et des comportements autodestructeurs.

Il est à noter que le film sera présenté en anglais avec des sous-titres en français.

The Montreal LGBTQ+ Community Centre is proud to host a screening of the movie Standing on the line by Paul Émile d'Entremont, on Wednesday, August 24th at 7pm!

In both amateur and professional sports, being gay remains taboo. Few dare to come out of the closet for fear of being stigmatized, and for many, the pressure to perform is compounded by a further strain: whether or not to affirm their sexual orientation. Breaking the code of silence that prevails on the field, on the ice and in the locker room, this film takes a fresh and often moving look at some of our gay and lesbian athletes, who share their experiences with the camera. They’ve set out to overcome prejudice in the hopes of changing things for the athletes of tomorrow.
